The Australian bottlenose dolphin , English Australian Saddleback Tumbler , can also be called "sattlet" in German and is one of the few pigeon breeds that were bred in Australia . Saddled means " ganselt " or " geelstert " and refers to the drawing of the animals whose tail, the heart on the upper back, the chest, the neck and the forehead are colored. The head and bib , wings, stomach and legs are feathered in white. In contrast to the black and blue, which were only presented with colored tails, red and yellow Australian bottlenose dolphins also appear with white tails.

ancestry

According to Joachim Schütte , the Australian bottlenose dolphins descend from the old Dutch bottlenose dolphins , emerged only after the Second World War and have so far only been bred in Australia.

Appearance

Australian bottlenose dolphins are medium-sized, smooth-headed pigeons with dark eyes. Their feet are not feathered (= smooth-footed ) or they have long and dense mountain pines , which are very popular in their homeland . Their shape resembles elongated old Dutch bottlenose dolphins.

Although the Australians are bottlenose dolphins by name , they are less flight pigeons than exhibition pigeons . Hans-Joachim Schille even puts them close to the colored pigeons .
