Autódromo Eusebio Marcilla

Autódromo Eusebio Marcilla is a permanent motorsport racing circuit in the city of Junín in the northwest of the Province of Buenos Aires , Argentina .

history

The original route was built as an oval course in the 1930s. In 1947 the circuit was extended to a length of 2000 meters and reopened in 1952. In 1971 Autódromo Junín was renamed Autódromo Eusebio Marcilla . Marcilla won the first race in 1952 and had a fatal accident in the race in October 1953.

In mid-2005, the Asociación Corredores Turismo Carretera (ACTC) took over the 136 hectare site and built a new track that met the modern requirements of racing, with run-off zones, pit lane, grandstands and track control tower. The new route, around 4,200 meters long and up to 16 meters wide, has six curves and was inaugurated on August 7, 2011. Today the track is the venue for the Turismo Carretera , TC 2000 , Fórmula Renault 2.0 and the Top Race series .
