Autoimmune thyroiditis ( English autoimmune thyroiditis ) are chronic inflammatory thyroid diseases that are caused by a dysregulation of the specific immune system ( B cells and T cells ). Autoimmune thyroiditis usually occurs after viral infections, and occasionally after subacute thyroiditis . Genetic factors play a role in their development.
Classification
- Type 1: euthyroid metabolic state
- 1A: with goiter ( Hashimoto's thyroiditis )
- 1B: without goiter ( ord thyroiditis )
- Type 2: hypothyroidism
- 2A: with goiter ( Hashimoto's thyroiditis )
- 2B: without goiter ( ord thyroiditis )
- Type 3: Graves' disease
- 3A: with hyperthyroidism
- 3B: with euthyroid metabolism
- 3C: with hypothyroidism
