Automobile Racing Club of America

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is an American motorsport association founded in 1953 by John Marcum. The president of the ARCA is Ron Drager.

The races run by ARCA in the ARCA Racing Series are carried out with touring cars similar to those of the NASCAR Cup Series . This is due to the fact that some old racing cars from the Cup Series are used by the ARCA. The field of drivers consists of professional and semi-professional racing drivers as well as newcomers who want to make a name for themselves. The latter also partly drive in the ARCA races as part of a driver development program run by NASCAR teams.

In addition to the RE / MAX Series, the ARCA also organizes a racing series with trucks in the so-called ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series . The ARCA owns the Toledo Speedway and Flat Rock Speedway .
