AvCraft Aviation
AvCraft Aviation is an American regional aircraft maintenance company that held the manufacturing and service rights for the Dornier 328 turboprop and Dornier 328 JET aircraft . It had taken it over in December 2002 from the trustees of the liquidated Fairchild Dornier GmbH . The final transfer of rights and patents took place by September 2003.
Avcraft Aviation wanted to resume production of the 328JET in Germany and also manufacture its wings in-house. This was previously made by an external company.
In August 2004 Avcraft had successfully established itself in the regional line market. Attending the Farnborough Air Show that same year clearly signaled General Manager Ben Bartel's plans to make Avcraft a fixture in short-haul aircraft manufacturing.
In March 2005, the company slipped into serious liquidity problems . According to its own information, an airline would no longer have accepted aircraft that had already been ordered and manufactured. In July 2005, Bartel was arrested in Germany for tax evasion.
Production and sales of the 328 continued through September 2005.
In 2010, AvCraft was acquired by Indaer International .
