Awol One

Awol One (* in East Los Angeles , California ; real name Anthony Martin ) is an American rapper . He is considered a representative of alternative hip-hop and is a member of the Shape Shifters . Other spellings of his artist name are AWOL One and AWOL ONE .

Career

Awol One was born in East Los Angeles to a Portuguese and an Irish woman . He was interested in music and art and eventually began his career as part of the Shape Shifters . In 1998 he released his first album outside the group, along with DJ ESP as Three Eyed Cowz. Further collaborations with various artists followed, before he released his first completely independent solo album, Self Titled, in 2004.

While touring Canada with Busdriver and Shape Shifters member Circus, he met the producer and DJ Factor, with whom he recorded the single Try and later the albums Only Death Can Kill You and Owl Hours . The latter was produced executive by Xzibit , whom he knew before he started his career.
