Axel Delmar (actually Alexander Hans Waldemar von Demandowsky , born April 9, 1867 in Berlin , † April 7, 1929 in Gorden ) was a German actor, director and playwright.

Delmar grew up in Berlin and became an actor, in 1911 he founded the Heimatspiele in Potsdam , which he directed until 1918. He wrote patriotic plays like "The Iron Savior" or "Marschall Vorwärts".

His son Ewald von Demandowsky was Reichsfilmdramaturg and head of production at Tobis during National Socialism and was executed by the Soviet judiciary in Berlin in 1946.
