The Axelsee is an oxbow lake on the Weser south of Hoxter . It lies between Würgassen and Lauenförde. It is about 12 hectares in size. There are pike, carp, eel, perch, tench and pikeperch in the water. The Axelsee can be used for recreational sports and a recreational area for camping etc. is connected.
