Acidity
The acidity (from Latin acidus "sour") or acidity denotes in chemistry :
- in the case of Brønsted acids to give the measure of the ability of a chemical compound, protons, so their behavior with acid expressed by the acidity constant and the pK s value
- in the case of Lewis acids, the measure of the ability of a chemical compound to bind Lewis bases; see Lewis acid-base concept
- the acidity (proton concentration) of a solution; see pH value
