Bâtonnier

Bâtonnier (from French bâton = staff, stick; staff member of a cooperative, head master of a guild) is the president or chairman of the barreau , the local French bar association that French lawyers use to comply with the professional code and " to handle the order and discipline of theirs Select Standes ".

Bâtonnier is also the name of the standard-bearer of a guild.
