The Büchener Tunnel is a 105 meter long railway tunnel at kilometer 15 of the Wuppertal-Oberbarmen – Solingen railway line in Remscheid .
history
Only with the construction of the Büchen tunnel and the Müngsten bridge in 1897 was a direct rail link established between Solingen and Remscheid .
An accident at the tunnel occurred in 1908 with numerous injuries.
Today, fire protection exercises are regularly carried out on the tunnel.
