Iron-free

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Non-iron suggests in advertising that an item of clothing never has to be ironed .

description

Garments whose fabric is coated with fibers made of plastic are often advertised as non-iron . The wearing comfort is often reduced due to the resulting rigidity.

The harmful formaldehyde is often used in production . Alternative methods are known, such as a mixture of citric acid and xylitol , but did not catch on until 2016.

The Stiftung Warentest found in 2006 that after several washing processes, the advertised freedom from ironing increasingly dwindles and the laundry then has to be ironed again. According to recent reports, the laundry no longer loses its ironing freedom even after being washed several times.
