Alliance for Hildesheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Alliance for Hildesheim was an independent voter community active in the city of Hildesheim . Its official abbreviation was "Alliance!". As a pure town hall party , it pursued exclusively local political goals.

The founding of the “Alliance!” Was one of the far-reaching political consequences of the so-called “ Pecunia non olet affair ” as well as long-standing internal disputes in the Hildesheim CDU (cf. in detail: Kurt Machens ).

history

The “Bündnis!” Formed in 2005 as a support group for the (ultimately successful) candidacy of Kurt Machens, who had recently been excluded from the CDU, for the post of full-time mayor of the city of Hildesheim. Since, in addition to several influential Hildesheim merchants, three members of the council converted from the CDU to the “Alliance!”, The CDU already had its own council group shortly after it was founded. This formed a joint group with the only council representative of the BAH town hall party, which is also close to Machens .

In May 2006, a “Bündnis!” Parliamentary group was formed in the district assembly of the Hildesheim district , made up of a former member of the FDP and a former member of the SPD .

In the local elections on September 10, 2006, the “Alliance!” Stood for the first time to the vote and was able to win 17.4 percent of the votes and thus eight mandates in the election to the City Council of Hildesheim. Plans to form joint lists of candidates with the BAH for the local elections had failed in the run-up to name disputes. As a consequence of this development, the founder and longstanding chairman of the BAH , Hans Freter, decided to join the "Alliance!" In the district election, the community of voters, who only ran in the electoral districts belonging to the city of Hildesheim, achieved 3.7 percent and thus three seats.

It is questionable whether the “Bündnis!” Can convert its success in the election to the city council of Hildesheim into political influence, since the CDU and SPD have agreed to form a grand coalition in order not to work with the “Bündnis!” have to. In December 2006, the previous party and parliamentary group chairman, Heinz-Jörg Heinrich, resigned from the parliamentary group and, according to a report in the Hildesheimer Allgemeine Zeitung , accused his previous colleagues of “pursuing policy against the will of the members, breaking confidentiality and seeking posts to kungeln. "

The “Bündnis!” Thereupon announced an electoral group exclusion process against Heinrich. On December 21, 2006, the parliamentary group elected Thomas Müller as the new parliamentary group chairman. At their general meeting on February 1, 2007, the electoral group elected Roland Skerhut as the new chairman. Heinrich had not reapplied. The new Alliance! Chairman rejected Heinrich's allegations. However, he disagreed with representations that the Alliance! have already decided on Heinrich's expulsion. "The new board will meet for the first time today, then we'll talk about it." However, he would speak out in favor of excluding Heinrich. Heinrich has only been causing difficulties for months.

In the first board meeting on February 13, 2007, Heinrich was unanimously voted out of the Alliance! locked out. The reason was: "behavior that harms alliances". Roland Skerhut literally: “He harmed our group of voters. Something like that cannot remain without consequences. "

Despite a request from the electoral group, Heinrich did not return his council mandate. Heinrich achieved the second fewest votes (252) within the alliance in first place in his electoral area and moved into the council via the list.

In the local elections in 2011, the alliance was only able to win two council seats. However, both elected officials left the electoral group shortly after the election, which resulted in a significant loss of membership.

At the beginning of January 2016 it became known that the general meeting of the electorate had unanimously decided to dissolve the alliance due to a lack of future prospects.
