Westerholt Citizens' Rifle Guild 1583

At the Bürgererschützengilde Westerholt 1583 e. V. is a shooting club in the Herten district of Westerholt in the Recklinghausen district . According to its own statements, the Bürgererschützengilde has existed since at least 1583. At that time it was not a shooting club in its current form. This did not crystallize until later, with the shooting societies going through and overcoming some changes.

The club is just as active in the traditional area as in the sporting area and has its own youth department. We take part in marches and festivals of other associations, as well as our own events. In the sporting field, the shooters start at district, district and state championships.

Many social events are organized together with the WIW (advertising and interest group), as well as with the interest group Westerholter Vereine. Here, joint activities for the members of the clubs, such as B. a bird shooting or a summer festival for all citizens of Westerholt and other interested parties.

The BSG Westerholt offers its members the opportunity to practice their sport and to take part in competitions in different disciplines. Most of the disciplines can be held directly on the club's premises. Through several days of training, the members can practice their sport under professional guidance and trained supervision.

The BSG Westerholt tries to take part in many events of other shooting clubs in the area. The shooting festival in Antwerp is visited once a year, and the shooting festival in Kalmthout , Belgium can count on the Westerholter shooters every two years . The association is also visited by Belgian friends.
