Bāʿ
Bāʿ ( Arabic باع, DMG bāʿ ' fathoms ') was an Arabic measure of length that was also called qāma . It corresponds to four canonical cubits , or around 2 meters . In today's Egypt the Bāʿ = 3 meters. The metric system has officially been in effect there since 1891.
