Bố Trạch ( Huyện Bố Trạch ) is a district in the province of Quảng Bình in central Vietnam . It has an area of ​​2,123 km² and has 171,921 inhabitants (2003). Its main town is Hoan Lao (Thị trấn Hoàn Lão). It borders the Quang Trach in the north and the Dong Hoi in the south. In the west, the border with Laos forms its extension.

geography

The circle extends from the coast of the South China Sea in the east over a small plain around the Son River to the Truong Son Mountains in the west. It is crossed by National Road 1 and the railway line between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City . The Ho Chi Minh Trail led through the mountainous region in the west .
