B Mail

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

B Mail is a service offered by Swiss Post in which letters are delivered no later than the third working day after posting .

In contrast to A Mail , which is delivered on the next working day, B Mail is not sorted in the processing centers during the night, but on the following day during the day. This type of processing enables better load distribution in the mail centers and a reduction in the more costly night work.

B-Post can also send letters in bulk. The actual price of a shipment (currently 85 cents ) falls to less than 40 cents per item, depending on the number of letters.

The division into A and B mail took place on February 1, 1991. Up to this point in time, each letter was delivered the next day. The Post (former PTT ) justified the decision that the service can no longer be used for all letters due to the increase in letter post.
