The BASF Company Cup ( spelling : BASF FIRMENCUP ) is a company run in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region . The title sponsor is BASF SE . The venue is the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. The running event has existed since 2003 and will take place for the fifteenth time on May 31, 2017. The company cup includes the disciplines running and inline skating. With the Junior Run Cup and the Kids Run Cup in 2010, young runners also had the opportunity to run on the Grand Prix track for the first time. Strengthening the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, team spirit, enjoying movement and celebrating together with colleagues are the basic ideas of the event to this day.

On the initiative of BASF Aktiengesellschaft, the concept for a company run event based on the largest German company run, the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt , was developed in 2003 . The idea of ​​conquering the Grand Prix circuit at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg and then celebrating with colleagues in the paddock led to almost 7,500 participants in the first edition in 2003. With over 17,000 participants in 2015, the BASF Company Cup has grown steadily and has since become one of the largest company running events in Germany.

The distance to be covered is 4.8 kilometers for both the running cup and the inline cup of the BASF company cup. This is an extended lap on the Grand Prix circuit of the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.

In the junior running cup, the distance to be covered is 2.3 kilometers, in the kids running cup it is around 600 meters. This is a shortened lap on the Grand Prix circuit of the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.
