Association of the youth of the German minority

The Union of Youth of the German Minority (BJDM for short) is the youth organization of the German minority in Poland . The BJDM is based in Opole and is a member of the Youth Network of European Ethnic Groups .

In addition to the board office in Opole, the BJDM has several local groups and currently has a total of around 2000 members. Katrin Koschny has been the federal chairwoman since 2016. The youth organization publishes the quarterly magazine "Antidotum".

The BJDM was founded in 1992. Since 1998 he has been a member of the European Youth Network of European Nationalities (YEN).

Goals and Activities

The BJDM has u. a. made the task of cultivating, promoting and making known German culture , language and identity in Poland, promoting charitable activities, training and further education of its members and group leaders and organizing international youth exchanges.

This includes u. a. Language courses, IT courses, various training courses and workshops, youth conferences, the "Big Slide" - a leisure activity with ice skating for children, concerts, study trips.
