The BSC Rollers Zwickau are a German wheelchair basketball club from Zwickau , whose first team plays in the wheelchair basketball Bundesliga . With two German championship titles, winning the DRS Cup twice and the André Vergauwen Cup as well as other top national and international placements, the club is one of the most successful wheelchair basketball clubs in Germany.

Foundation and promotion to the Bundesliga

The Zwickau wheelchair basketball was founded in 1977. In 1998, the first team was promoted to the wheelchair basketball Bundesliga and has been a member of this since then without interruption.

Bundesliga and international competition

In the Bundesliga, they qualified for the playoffs for the German championship every season from 1998 to 2015. In 2002 the club, then still under the name AS Zwickau, became German champions for the first time. In 2003 he won the DRS Cup and in 2004 the André Vergauwen Cup was the first international title for the club, which is now playing as RSC-Rollis Zwickau. In 2006 Zwickau again won the André Vergauwen Cup and in 2008 the DRS Cup. In 2009 the club won the German championship for the second time and reached the final of the IWBF Champions Cup .

Bankruptcy and start-ups

In October 2014, RSC-Rollis Zwickau filed for bankruptcy after donors withdrew. In November 2014 the BSC Rollers Zwickau was founded and the playing rights of all teams of the RSC Rollers Zwickau were transferred to this successor club.
