BV4.1

The application software BV4.1 is a user- friendly tool for the decomposition of components (see methods of time series analysis ) and seasonal adjustments of monthly and quarterly economic time series using the Berlin method , version BV4.1. It was developed by the German Federal Statistical Office and is available as freeware for non-commercial applications .

Features of the software

The BV4.1 software has the following essential performance features:

  • System requirements: Windows PC (from Windows NT 4.0 / Windows 98 ).
  • Support of the input and output formats Excel , Access , SQL and CSV .
  • User-friendly graphical user interface.
  • Analyzes of monthly and quarterly series.
  • Possibility of mass production of component disassemblies and seasonal adjustments.
  • Possibility of graphical representation of analysis results.
  • Possibility of performing successive analyzes, i.e. analyzes in which the analysis periods are successively extended by one observation period each time. This option is useful when examining revisions of analysis results that can be traced back to the BV4.1 method.
