Başmabeyinci

Başmabeyinci was a title in the Ottoman Empire . The Başmabeyinci was the superior of all Mabeyincilers . The Arabic term mā bayn  /ما بين / 'What is in between' is the basis.

The Mabeyinciler were a privileged unit of pages in the area of ​​the saray and harem . They shaved and dressed the ruler. They were presided over by the Silahdar until the 17th century. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Başçuhadar (chief chamberlain), the Sarıkçıbaşı and the Kahvecibaşı were also counted among the Mabeyinciler .
