Sarıkçıbaşı

Sarıkçıbaşı was in the Ottoman Empire the title of the officer who for the turbans of the Sultan was responsible. His duties included storing, washing and dressing the turbans. After Mahmud II issued a dress reform in 1826 , the turban headgear was replaced by the fez . Thus, the title and the task of Sarıkçıbaşı no longer existed.
