Babe is a 1979 song by Styx , written by Dennis DeYoung , and appeared on the Cornerstone album . Dennis DeYoung, Chuck and John Panozzo were responsible for the production.

history

Dennis DeYoung wrote the song as a birthday present for his wife Suzanne and also recorded a demo. Chuck and John Panozzo played all the instruments on it and DeYoung sang the song as in the completed one.

Originally Babe wasn't intended for the band, but members James Young and Tommy Shaw loved the song so much that it had to be on the album and they were right with a belief in success.

The release was on September 30, 1979, in the United States, Canada and South Africa the soft rock number became a number one hit. The song has been very popular in the Philippines since the 1980s and its popularity continues today. The song was also used in the movie Big Daddy .
