How a baby seat mirror works

A baby seat mirror is a construction with the help of which a car driver can see how a child behaves in a baby seat in the back seat. The baby seat mirror reflects the image of the child from the back seat in the inside mirror of the car. The driver can watch the child without having to turn around.

Children under one year of age and children weighing less than nine kilograms must be secured in the car across or backwards to the direction of travel with a special child seat .

The seat for children under one year of age is also called a baby seat. This is fastened with the belt in the car against the direction of travel. In cars with a passenger airbag that cannot be switched off, the baby seat must be attached to the rear seat. From the driver's side, the child in the baby seat without a baby seat mirror can hardly be observed, so that the use of such a mirror increases road safety .
