description
The Bachteretz armor is made of steel , it is a mixture of chain and lamellar armor . The armor is about knee length and also covers the arms to just below the elbows. The neckline is slit on the front to make it easier to put on the chainmail. Small steel lamellas that overlap each other are incorporated at the breast level. These lamellas protect the chest, back and lower abdomen. A chain bonnet is worn with chain mail , it runs down over the shoulders. This type of armor was used in Russia and is very similar to Indian and Persian chain armor.
