history
The company was founded in 1899 as a privately owned family company of the Vietmeyer family. In 1970 the company was relocated to its current location. Four more wells were drilled between 1986 and 1990. Today Bad Pyrmonter is a brand of the Vilsa-Brunnen group owned by the Rodekohr family after it was acquired by the Gerolsteiner group . In Bad Pyrmont, water was bottled at the beginning of the spa and bathing operations and distributed as far as southern Germany.
General
The waters of Bad Pyrmonter belong to the type of sulphate waters (Katharinenquelle), the springs are partly on the North Rhine-Westphalian area of the city of Lügde . For protection, in particular for the medicinal springs of the Bad Pyrmont state bath, extensive agreements exist between the municipalities and the regional authority of the Lippe district on water protection in the catchment area of the springs. In addition to the natural mineral waters produced for normal consumption, the company offers a special medicinal water that is used in the state spa . In addition to the traditional returnable glass bottles, the water is filled in returnable PET bottles and distributed in standard container sizes nationwide via wholesalers. The waters of Bad Pyrmonter are protected by a geographical designation of origin and one of the most famous brands on the German market due to the importance of the state bath .
