Bad Schönbrunn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From 1858, under the name Bad Schönbrunn , there was a health resort near Edlibach in the Zugerian community of Menzingen in Switzerland. The house enjoyed a first-class reputation throughout Europe. After the First World War , this type of tourism offered here was no longer in demand and Bad Schönbrunn, located on a wide headwaters in a moraine landscape, was empty.

In 1929 the Jesuits took over the properties from the owners at the time. Because of the Jesuit ban in the Swiss Federal Constitution, which was in force until 1973 , Bad Schönbrunn belongs to an association founded in 1930. The Fathers offered the spiritual exercises of their founder Ignatius of Loyola for different target groups and age groups. The old Kurhaus was replaced by a modern building by André M. Studer in a so-called harmonic construction from 1968 to 1970 , and the range of education and courses was greatly expanded. The Bildungshaus has been operating under the name Lassalle-Haus since 1993 . This name goes back to the Jesuit Hugo Enomiya Lassalle , a survivor of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima, who as a Zen teacher built a bridge between Christianity and Buddhism. Bad Schönbrunn is committed to this cosmopolitan spirituality.
