Badminton world rankings

The BWF World Ranking is by the Badminton World Federation published rankings of all players in badminton - sports . In the badminton world rankings, ten of all BWF tournaments contested for each single player, doubles and mixed pair, with the most points achieved in the last 52 weeks, are added up to determine their position in the ranking. The badminton world rankings are updated every Thursday on the BWF website.

The same point breakdown applies to each discipline. In the doubles, the double pairing gets the points and not each player individually.

According to this world ranking list, the players are placed in the international tournaments.

historical development

The first world ranking was published in 1981. It was determined from 13 tournaments. At first the ranking list was only kept in the individual disciplines, later it was expanded to include the double disciplines. In addition, the number of tournaments used for the determination was steadily increasing.
