Bahía de los Ángeles is a bay in the Mexican state of Baja California in the Gulf of California . It is located on the east side of the Baja California peninsula in northwestern Mexico. The island of Isla Ángel de la Guarda is just a few kilometers opposite. The bay is 42 miles east of the Transpeninsular Highway . Dolphins and blue whales live in the bay .
