Świnoujście Centrum is a train station in Świnoujście (Swinoujscie) in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship on the island of Usedom . It is the eastern terminus of the currently operated northern part of the Ducherow – Heringsdorf – Wolgaster ferry .

The train station is located at the intersection of 11 Listopada Street and Wojska Polskiego Street . It is located about 200 meters from the town center than the former station Swinoujscie Bad (Polish Świnoujście Nieradków ), up to the as a result of World War II carried out dismantling of the southern part of the route of Ducherow On Swinoujscie to Ahlbeck was used. Swinoujscie became Polish at that time, and the approximately 5 km long stretch of this southern section of the route located on its Usedom district was also dismantled.
history
After the Second World War, the easternmost part of the island of Usedom came to Poland . The Ducherow – Heringsdorf – Wolgaster ferry line was divided twice by the new border. Operations on the Polish section of the route were only maintained for a very short time; then the line in Poland as well as the section from Ducherow over the destroyed Karnin Bridge to the Polish border dismantled. From the direction of Heringsdorf , the operated route ended in Seebad Ahlbeck . In 1997 the line was extended to the Ahlbeck border , directly at the German-Polish border crossing .
The extension of the railway line on the old route to the city of Świnoujście had been planned for a long time and was finally simplified with the inclusion of Poland in the Schengen area . The first train to the Świnoujście Centrum station left in February 2008. The start of public transport was delayed until September 21, 2008 due to the lack of appropriate permits from the Polish railway authorities.
Investments
The station is equipped with a relay interlocking of the type GS II appointed, the station Heringsdorf is remotely controlled from. Since the station has no connection to the rest of the Polish rail network, the Polish section of the route is operated according to German regulations.
For 2013, the Usedomer Bäderbahn planned the construction of a reception building with a ticket office , a tourist information office and toilets . At the beginning of 2018, the mentioned facilities are still missing.
