history

The railway company Daiyūzan Tetsudō ( 大雄 山 鉄 道 ) opened the station on October 15, 1925. From Daiyūzan connecting routes to the temple and to Yamakita on the Gotemba line were planned, but were never realized. After the takeover of the Daiyūzan Tetsudō on August 23, 1941, the station came into the possession of the Sunzu Tetsudō ( 駿 豆 鉄 道 ), which has called itself Izuhakone Tetsudō since 1957 .
