history
On June 2, 1922, the railway company Daiyūzan Tetsudō ( 大雄 山 鉄 道 ) was founded. On October 15, 1925, it opened the nine-kilometer-long, electrified line between the temporary Sagami-hirokōji station in Odawara and Daiyūzan . Connection routes to Daiyūzan-Saijōji (a Buddhist temple of the Sōtō-shū direction) and to Yamakita on the Gotemba Line were planned , but both projects remained unrealized. On April 10, 1927, the opening of a short extension from Sagami-hirokōji to Shin-Odawara, another temporary station. Finally, on October 16, 1935, the line reached its final starting point at Odawara station and the two temporary stations were closed. The Daiyūzan Tetsudō went on August 23, 1941 by acquisition in the Sunzu Tetsudō ( 駿 豆 鉄 道 ), which has been called Izuhakone Tetsudō since 1957 . In 1956 the new owner put an additional stop at the Fujifilm plant in Minamiashigara into operation, and on November 25, 1976, she increased the electrical voltage from 600 V to 1500 V.
