List of train stations in the Netherlands |
The Oudelande (Odl) train station is the former train station in the village of Oudelande in the Dutch province of Zeeland . It was a stop on the Goes - Hoedekenskerke - Goes ring railway set up in 1927 by the Spoorweg-Maatschappij Zuid-Beveland (SZB) .
The station building was built in 1927 on the route north of the village in the style of Dutch inter-war architecture. As with most of the other stations on the ring line, the SZB “ZB-Standard” type of construction was used here.
The stop was opened when the line went into operation on May 19, 1927 and closed again on May 15, 1934 after seven years of operation.
The station building is a simple, single-story saddle roof building on a rectangular floor plan. In addition to the office room, there was also an apartment. It shows unplastered masonry on the ground floor and clad with wood in the upper area. The slightly protruding roof is covered with red shingles.
Next to it is a small, one-story goods shed, which was also built in 1927 and architecturally follows the style of the station types along the route.
Both objects are listed for cultural and historical reasons and because of their ensemble value as a Rijksmonument .
