The Wuppertal-Cronenberg train station (short: Cronenberger Bahnhof) is a historic train station in Wuppertal . The station building is located in the Cronenberg district near the town center and is located on the Wuppertal-Steinbeck – Wuppertal-Cronenberg railway ("Burgholzbahn" or "Cronenberger Samba") that was opened on April 1, 1891 and closed in 1988 .
history
The station was opened as a terminus by the Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft in 1891 under the name of Cronenberg . In the early 1950s it was renamed Wuppertal-Cronenberg . Until the closure was beside the passenger and freight handling performed.
The slate-clad reception building in half-timbered construction is now privately owned by a freight forwarding company and, together with the goods shed , office part and free loading ramp with roofing, has been registered as a monument since March 10, 1992. A restaurant is operated in the reception building and is leased by the shipping company.
