The railway Presque Isle Junction Washburn Junction is a railway line in Maine ( United States ). It is 3.48 kilometers long. The standard gauge line has been closed and dismantled.

The railway line was built together with the connecting line to Washburn in Presque Isle Junction as an electric railway and was opened like this on July 1, 1910 by the Aroostook Valley Railroad (AVR). The route runs along the south bank of the Aroostook River through the urban area of Presque Isle . When it opened, it was the AVR's only track connection to the rest of the railway network. In Washburn Junction it joined the Aroostook Junction – Presque Isle line of the Canadian Pacific Railway , which in 1932 also acquired the AVR. The overhead line carried 1200 volts direct current. Around 1915 the line was re-routed in some places in order to reduce gradients.

Electric traffic on the freight-only route ended on August 7, 1946. After a new track connection to the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in the west of the town of Presque Isle was put into operation in 1992 , the AVR ceased traffic on the route to Washburn Junction and closed the line in 1993.
