The Storå – Guldsmedshyttan railway was a standard-gauge Swedish railway line .

Guldsmedshytte Bruk , founded in 1868, consisted of an opencast mine , blast furnaces and foundries until the late 1940s .

In 1873, the managing directors of Guldsmedshyttans AB , J. Bäckström, CF Weber and AV Frestadius, applied for a concession for a 3.7-kilometer standard-gauge railway line from the Storå branch station on the Frövi to Ludvika line . This concession was granted on June 27, 1873.

The line was built under the direction of G. Hammarström and put into operation for provisional freight traffic on October 21, 1873. The opening for general freight traffic took place on March 31, 1875. On the route rails with a meter weight of 30.5 kilograms were laid, the total construction costs amounted to 186,000  crowns . Operational management was first carried out with the vehicles of the Frövi – Ludvika Järnväg line operated by the Swedish Central Railway Co. Ltd , and later by the Trafikaktiebolaget Grängesberg – Oxelösunds Järnvägar (TGOJ).

The line was electrified on April 5, 1962. In Guldsmedshyttan, diesel locomotives were kept available for shunting, such as the TGOJ Z1 . With the closure of the Guldsmedshytte on May 31, 1987, the train service on the line ended. The tracks were dismantled by 1992.
