Déri Balázs

Balázs Déri (born August 4, 1954 ) is a Hungarian poet, translator, classical philologist, Medievalist, musicologist, Catalanist, university professor, editor of the magazine Magyar Egyházzene ( Hungarian Church Music ).

Life

Born in 1954 in Orgovány / Bugacpuszta . At the Loránd Eötvös University , Budapest, he studied Latin and Iranian studies from 1972 to 1977, Greek from 1973 to 1979, Hungarian from 1972 to 1974, and from 1977 to 1978 he continued his studies in Coptic and Catalan from 1978 to 1981. From 1991–1995 he studied musicology at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy. 1998 PhD, 2003 habilitation.
