The Balato , also called Baltoe , Balatu , Balatu Sebua , Ballatu , Foda , Gari Telegu , Klewang Buchok Berkait , Roso Sebua or Telagoe , is a sword of the inhabitants of the Nias Island.

The balato has a straight, single-edged blade. The place is rounded. The blade has neither a central ridge nor a hollow grind. The handle has no guard, is often artistically carved and made of hardwood. The pommel is slightly bent. There are many versions that differ in shape, length and decoration. The balato is used by ethnic groups in Indonesia.
