Balkan Pact

The Balkan Pact was a military alliance between Turkey , Greece and Yugoslavia that was concluded in Bled on August 9, 1954 . On February 28, 1953, the three Balkan states signed a friendship treaty in Ankara . The military alliance was formed for a period of 20 years to counter a potential threat from the Soviet Union and its allies. After the 20-year contract period, Yugoslavia decided not to renew or extend the alliance.
