Ballasalla ( Manx Balley Sallagh , literally: place of the willow trees) is a village in the south of the Isle of Man near the former capital of the island Castletown .

Between the 12th and 16th centuries, the Cistercian monk abbey Rushen Abbey was located here , the ruins of which are still visible today.
