Ball bucket training

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This ball machine for the sport of badminton was built from the tripod of a construction spotlight and two KG pipes. The balls slide automatically when one is removed. An effective ball bucket training is easy to carry out.

The ball bucket training describes a training method for competitive athletes in the kickback sports (e.g. table tennis, tennis, badminton and volleyball). Here, a trainer passes several balls to the player one after the other and does not accept his return, but observes them. Based on the sport of table tennis , in which the balls are taken from a real bucket, the term has also spread to other sports.

The advantages over ball machines , in which the balls are passed through a machine, are:

  • An adaptation of the balls played to the user is possible immediately.
  • A slightly inaccurate pass (compared to a ball machine) improves anticipation.
  • Immediate feedback from the trainer is given.
  • Endurance training close to the game is possible due to the high number of balls played.
  • The costs for a ball bucket and any additional holding device are significantly lower.

Various stands and devices are available (or you can do it yourself) to place or hang the ball bucket or the holding device for the balls within reach and height of the trainer.

Ball bucket training is also possible with thrown balls (e.g. volleyball or badminton). This means that it can also be performed by other players instead of the coach.
