Bale collection truck
A bale collection cart (or bale collector ) is used to collect hay and straw bales in the field.
Bale machine
In the 1970s and 1980s, the Munsterland manufacturer Kemper in Stadtlohn manufactured the bale machine. There were two versions, the BA 95 for up to 95 high-pressure bales and the BA 125 for up to 125 bales. This device was also offered by the Bavarian company Fella. The only difference between Kemper and Fella is the lettering.
The bales are transferred from the pick-up device to an endless chain with carriers. The endless conveyor fills the entire structure. When loading, the endless conveyor advances by one bale length. The bales are transported upwards along the conveyor track like in a carousel from the pickup located at the bottom left. When the first bale has reached the top at the back, a signal device indicates that the car is full.
During unloading, the endless conveyor runs continuously at an adjustable speed and the bales are unloaded from the top right rear via an unloading chute. It can be used to feed all the bale conveyor systems and conveyor belts available on the farm.
Other designs
Most other devices consist of a chassis with a scraper floor and a fork to pick up the bales. This fork is located on the side of the chassis during pick-up, picks up the bale and lifts it onto the chassis. Depending on the equipment, several bales can be stacked on top of each other. The bales are transported to the rear using a scraper floor. Modern devices tilt the floor back so that a rent can be placed at the edge of the field.
Procedure
The loading capacity is limited compared to pure flatbed trailers, so that the process is not suitable for long-distance transports. With bale collectors it is possible to clear areas in a short time with just one tractor and to create provisional rents on the edge of the field.
With the Kemper automatic bale machine, on the other hand, it does not make sense to unload at the edge of the field, since the bale conveyor systems on the yard can be loaded directly without manual work.
