The Baltic Sea Academy is a network of 15 universities and technical colleges from nine countries in the Baltic Sea region . The registered association has a non-commercial character and was initiated in February 2010 by the Hanseatic Parliament .

The common goal is to strengthen cooperation between academic institutions and medium-sized businesses. Specific research tasks and innovations are implemented, but long-term investments are also made in training and further education. A special focus is on the dual training system, see dual course of study .

Hanseatic conferences

Since 2004, a conference has been held once a year together with the Hanseatic Parliament , the so-called Hanseatic Conference. In addition to business representatives, scientists and politicians, e. B. on the conference “Renewable Energies and SMEs in the Baltic Sea Region” 2011 EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger or 2012 EU Commissioner Algirdas Šemeta . Following keynote speeches, discussions will take place at the conference, which is limited to 120 participants. The presentations and results of the discussions will be published in a separate series of publications.

Coordinated by a scientific advisory board, the Baltic Sea Academy irregularly publishes scientific proceedings of the conferences and strategy programs. The following publications have appeared so far:
