Banco Pastor is a Spanish company based in A Coruña .
The credit institute was founded in A Coruña in 1776 by Jaime Dalmau Batista. In 1819 José Pastor Taxonera became his business partner, who took control, and in 1845 changed the name of the bank. For the next 100 years until 1939, subsequent generations of the family ran the bank. In 1939, Pedro Barrié de la Maza took control of the company. After his death in 1971, his wife Carmela Arias y Díaz de Rábago ran the bank until 2001. She was followed in 2001 by José María Arias Mosquera . In the course of the real estate crisis in Spain , the credit institution came under pressure.
