Tape magnetism

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Band magnetism (also itinerant magnetism ) is a mechanism of magnetic exchange interaction . The magnetic moments are carried by moving band electrons. The elements iron , cobalt and nickel are band magnets. A simple model to explain the band magnetism is the Stoner model , which however only applies to a temperature T = 0.
