Bandos is a Maldivian island located north of Malé in the center of the North Malé Atoll , which after the division of the administrative unit now belongs to Kaafu .

The island is about eight kilometers north of both Malé and the airport island. Both can be reached by speedboat in around 20 minutes. Bandos is known for its house reefs close to the beach, which are easily accessible snorkeling and diving areas . All around there is a narrow, turquoise lagoon. The island is home to one of the oldest developed resorts in the Maldives. The oval-shaped island measures 178,900 m² and has a diameter of around 500 m. Due to its location in the interior of the atoll, the island is surrounded by deep, generally calm water beyond the reef-lined, narrow lagoon, relatively close to the beach.

The neighboring island of Kuda Bandos opened its own resort in 2018.
