The Bank of Moscow ( Russian Банк Москвы ) is a Russian credit institute with its headquarters in Moscow .
The bank was founded in March 1995. It offers various financial services for both business and private customers in the greater Moscow area and a number of other regions in Russia. According to the company, the number of business customers is over 103,000 and the number of private customers of the bank is around 8.4 million. The pre-tax profit is said to have amounted to 7.95 billion rubles in 2006 , an increase of 39% over the previous year.
The Bank of Moscow is 46.5% (as of 2010) owned by the city of Moscow. Other major shareholders include the energy company Mosenergo , the oil companies Surgutneftegas and Lukoil, and the investment banks Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs .
There are over 130 branches of the Bank of Moscow in the greater Moscow area (as of December 2010). The credit institution has been part of the VTB Bank since 2011 .
