Mosenergo ( Russian Мосэнерго ) is a RTS index included energy companies from Russia . The company, headquartered in Moscow, is one of the largest energy suppliers in the country, generating around eight percent of the nation's electricity.
Mosenergo, which is also the first energy supplier in Moscow and still operates the city's oldest thermal power station, was founded in 1887. Today's Mosenergo stock corporation was founded in 1993. The company specializes in the supply of electricity and district heating in Moscow and the surrounding area. The control package of 53.5% belongs to Gazprom Energoholding LLC, 26.45% to the city of Moscow, 5.05% to OJSC Inter RAO UES and 15.0% to free float *.
