Bantry House

Bantry House ( Irish Teach Bheanntraí ) is a magnificent country house near Bantry above Bantry Bay in County Cork in Ireland .

The house was built around 1720 and has been the residence of the White family since 1750. They held the title Earl of Bantry from 1816 to 1891 . The interiors feature furniture and art objects from all over Europe that the 2nd Earl of Bantry brought back from his European trips. The pink salon and the dining room are particularly worth seeing . The property has a beautiful view over Bantry Bay. There is an Italian garden in front of the house.

The building has been open to the public since 1946. In 2002 and 2004 the most important rooms were completely renovated.
